A quote before you decide

ABOUT THIS CARE

A whitening plan starts with your teeth.

An overall change in colour, one darker tooth and a filling that no longer matches are different concerns. Tell Dr Tadic what you have noticed and whether you have used whitening products before. An assessment helps establish whether whitening is appropriate or another approach deserves consideration.

What matters before you start

  • The colour of your natural teeth
  • Visible fillings, crowns or veneers
  • Sensitivity and previous whitening reactions
  • The method, costs and follow-up involved

Compare colour before choosing treatment.

A shade guide helps compare tooth colour. Existing fillings, crowns and veneers also matter when planning a change to the colour of natural teeth.

01

Whitening does not change existing dental work

Whitening lightens natural teeth, but it will not lighten fillings, crowns or veneers. If these show when you smile, the colour match needs to be considered before you start. One dark tooth may also need a different assessment from general discolouration.

02

Understand the method and possible sensitivity

Dentist-supervised whitening may involve an in-chair or take-home approach. Dr Tadic can explain which options the practice can offer for your teeth and the instructions involved. Sensitivity and gum irritation are possible, so mention any past reactions.

03

Plan the treatment and any follow-up

Ask what is included in the quote, how treatment is used and when your teeth should be reviewed. If you have an occasion in mind, mention it at the consultation. An exact shade or completion date cannot be promised, and results vary between people.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Your questions,
answered.

Read the answers below, then bring any questions about your own teeth to your visit.

Will whitening lighten a crown or filling?

No. It changes natural tooth colour, not the colour of existing restorations. Dr Tadic can assess the colour match before you decide on treatment.

Can I have whitening if my teeth are sensitive?

Tell Dr Tadic before starting. Sensitivity can occur with whitening, and existing symptoms need to be considered when deciding whether and how to proceed.

Is whitening the same as a professional clean?

No. Whitening aims to lighten natural tooth colour. A clean and a whitening treatment have different purposes. Your assessment can help establish what is appropriate for the change you have noticed.

Should I choose whitening or veneers?

Whitening addresses colour. Veneers cover tooth surfaces and involve different preparation, risks and ongoing care. Start with the specific change you want, then compare suitable options.

How do I find out the price?

Ask about the assessment fee when booking. The proposed whitening method and any related care determine your treatment quote. Check what is included before proceeding.
